Communities allow to archive and share information about a specific subject-matter and to locate the people collecting and using this information.
The layout of the community pages is completely customizable by the community creators. IntelliFolks provides several so called "Portlets" - the building blocks of each page - including:
Bookmarks: a list of links to the relevant information collected by the commuity.
Community Members: a list of all members of the community allowing to discover and contact all colleagues participating in this community.
Blog: allows the community members to publish and share e.g. their current work, collected knowledge and, lessons learned.
Communities could be public or private. Public communities could be joined by all employees whereas private comminities could only be accessed if an employee becomes invited by the users who created the community (administrators of the community).
